About Keurig
Keurig traces back to 1992, when Colby College roommates John Sylvan and Peter Dragone founded Keurig Inc. (Dutch for "excellence") around Sylvan's idea for a single-cup brewing pod. The company launched its first brewers and K-Cup pods in 1998 aimed at the office market, then brought the format home in 2004 -- the move that turned K-Cup brewing from an office perk into a category of its own. Vermont-based Green Mountain Coffee Roasters acquired Keurig in 2006, and in 2018 Keurig Green Mountain merged with Dr Pepper Snapple Group in an $18.7 billion deal to form Keurig Dr Pepper, now the third-largest beverage company in North America. The brand's east-coast headquarters remains in Burlington, Massachusetts.
