About KitchenAid
KitchenAid was established in 1919 by the Hobart Manufacturing Company, and its first product -- the ten-quart C-10 stand mixer -- had already appeared a year earlier, in 1918. The stand mixer silhouette, designed by Egmont Arens in the 1930s, has changed little since, and in 1997 the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art selected it as an icon of American design. KitchenAid has been part of Whirlpool Corporation since 1986, and its mixers are still assembled in Greenville, Ohio.
The brand's coffee lineup carries the same design language onto the counter: fully automatic espresso machines, drip brewers, and the cold brew system we tested, all built with the smooth, rounded-edge body and metal construction the stand mixer made famous.
